Michael Bühler-Rose is a visual artist. He graduated with a BFA from Tufts University and an MFA from the University of Florida in 2008. A member of the Hare Krishna movement since the age of 14, Bühler-Rose studied Sanskrit and philosophy in India over a number of years and is today an ordained Hindu priest. Through his work informed by his diverse experiences, he explores the ideas of rituals, image worship, cross-cultural identities and belonging. He is a recipient of various grants, awards and residencies including the Fulbright Fellowship (India), Grolsch Swing Art Award and Graduate Alumni Fellowship, University of Florida. His work has recently been exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Delhi; Vogt Gallery, New York and Chatterjee and Lal, Mumbai.
